My favorite Ralph Lauren perfume is Notorious.

This is marketed as a "provocative accessory of modern glamor. Ralph Lauren Notorious, the fragrance that silently commands the attention of the room".

It pushes the image of a femme-fatale strutting through life devouring men for breakfast and never even getting her lipstick smudged.

The thing is…I find it a fair bit tamer than that. And that suits me just fine.

I’m fairly shy and I bought this based on the advertising campaign and the quick sniff I took at the perfume counter. I thought it might transform me into a sexier, more confident version of myself. Silly, I know.

What it did do though, was bath me in a delicious aroma that always gets favorable comments wherever I go.

Notorious is classed as an oriental perfume and has a wonderful blend of florals mixed with chocolate and patchouli.

It's warm and spicy and not a bit overpowering. I wear it during the day as well as at night.

The range of the fragrance covers black currant, pink peppercorn, bergamot, white frost peonies, carnation, patchouli musk, vanilla, iris, and chocolate.

So, I suppose it does get me noticed more, but in a good way. A way I like.

If you like oriental style perfumes but find Opium or Poison a bit scary, than I'd say try Notorious by Ralph Lauren instead.
